FAQ's

How long does an event normally take?

Usually starting at around 6.30pm or 7.00pm, by 9.30pm so that everybody has had their fill of liquids, and are ready for something more solid. Light nibbles are generally served throughout. There's usually some wine left over to enjoy with the food.

Will there be enough to drink, we don't want to just "taste"
There is always some wine left over at the end for the really enthusiastic tasters to enjoy at the end. Qualities are balanced to be plenty but not too much. Besides the wines tasted "competitively" there are usually welcome drinks, and there's always the prizes to be enjoyed.

What will we learn about wines - no-one is all that really interested in the different wines of Bordeaux or recent vintages of Chianti Classico?

Most guests pick up one really key point - practically, how to identify a good wine from all the mediocre stuff in restaurants and off-licences. That's enough in one evening. And its fun.

Can Harrison,Tate recommend a suitable venue, and caterers for the canapés or whatever?
Although staff parties and receptions are usually held in-house, we can recommend both caterers and an appropriate venue for most corporate hospitality budgets.

How much does food & venue commonly cost?

Depending on numbers, canapés usually work out around £14 -20 per head, whilst fork buffets are around £20-25

What about glasses and spittoons?
Harrison,Tate or the venue itself supply glasses, and why on earth spittoons - this is serious entertainment!

Can Harrison,Tate arrange a specific theme to the event?

Of course, we have even done one on the North Africa - finding tasty wines was a real challenge!

Surely most people would just rather a cocktail party?
When did you have a good time just standing round chatting to that bearded guy in Accounts about his holiday in Wales?
